On paper, things look like a shit. But I have work to do.

WHAT'S HAPPENING

Within the last year I lost my job, regular time with my kids, my marriage, my car, and my house. The kind of losses that would make most people put a creative project down and wait for better conditions.

I didn't. I kept working on AFJ. I kept talking to God. And somewhere in all of it, I stopped holding back. When you don't have much left to protect, you stop second-guessing yourself. You start listening to the voice that was always there.

The worse things got, the more clearly I could hear what I was supposed to do. I didn't shut down my own ideas. I listened to my own voice and followed what I believed in.

I don't know God's plan. But I trusted Him working in me. I learned not to worry. I know I'm pissing off the enemy and I like it.

THE DECLARATION

AFJ: The Declaration of Candidacy is the formal launch of the 2028 AFJ Presidential Campaign. It is a live performance — a candidacy speech, a community event, a night for Dallas — and it is the prologue to AFJ II: Rise of the Chosen (2028).

AFJ ran for office in 2024. He lost. This is the moment he tells coach to put him back in. Not because everything is perfect. Because he's still here and he's good for it — and no one else is going to do it.

Just because something hasn't been done doesn't mean AFJ can't do it.

The show is funny. It is also completely sincere. I wouldn't have it any other way.

November 22, 2026 is the 63rd anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy — endearingly referred to in the AFJ Universe as our Uncle Jack. That date is not incidental. It is the whole point.

President Kennedy is a prominent figure in the creation of AFJ and a constant personal inspiration in regards to leadership, fatherhood, and patriotism. 

THE AFJ TRILOGY

This show sits between the first two installments of the AFJ Trilogy, The Life of AFJ (2024) and AFJ II: Rise of the Chosen (2028). The AFJ Trilogy is made of three major solo performances occurring every U.S. election year from 2024 to 2032.

Twelve years of work. One character. Three chapters, in real time.
